Summer Camp FAQs

Where do I register?

Our first session already passed. Thanks to all our campers!

For the second session (July 31-Aug 2), register here: https://canyons.revtrak.net/alta-high-robotics-summer-camp-2023-july#/list

What is the cost of attending the camp?

$250. This covers registration fees, all materials, a t-shirt, snacks, and an unforgettable week with world-renowned robotics team members.

When does the camp run?

We are offering two camp sessions: June 20-23 & July 31-August 2.

Each camp runs Monday-Thursday from 8am-12pm.

What will we be doing?

You will be using a VEX V5 Clawbot kit and either Blockly or Python programming to create a robot to compete in a classroom arena. You will be taught how to brainstorm, build, program, and compete with your robot. This is NOT battlebots, but you will be teaming up with other robots to compete as an “alliance” during the competition.

Can I (the parent) come and watch?

On the last day of camp (Thursday), parents are invited to come and watch the competition play out, take pictures, and see the hard work your child has put into this camp!

What ages can come?

We recommend our camp to be appropriate for 9-14 year olds. The oldest should be entering into 9th grade for the 2023-24 school year.

My child is 7/8/15/otherwise outside the age requirements but would really like to come! Can you make an exception?

This camp is designed for late elementary & middle school students. Too young and the challenge may be too difficult, too old and it may be too easy! However, email us with your specific circumstances and we would be happy to discuss possible solutions.

If you are in high school but are interested in joining robotics, we would love to have you on our team! Contact us for more information.
